Q: How long have you volunteered and been associated with RMHC of Northwest Ohio?

A: Since 2017, I have dedicated my time and efforts to volunteering and building a meaningful association with RMHC of Northwest Ohio.

Q: What made you want to get involved with RMHC of Northwest Ohio?

A: Our journey with RMHC began when our first daughter was born prematurely. Initially, we were under the misconception that the House exclusively catered to out-of-town families. However, our perspective changed when the NICU Social Worker suggested we utilize the House to take a break from the hospital environment. This became a crucial respite during the NICU stay for both our oldest daughter and son. The exceptional support and facilities at the House left a lasting impression on us, prompting even our extended family to contribute, with my Mom crocheting blankets for the House to provide to other families in need.

Q: What is your favorite thing about RMHC of Northwest Ohio?

A: My favorite aspect of RMHC is the array of fun activities and events organized for the families staying there. The House goes beyond providing shelter; it creates a supportive and engaging environment during challenging times.

Q: What do you hope to accomplish as the Board Chairperson?

A: In my role as the Board Chairperson, I aim to enhance awareness about the invaluable services RMHC offers to families. Education and outreach will be key components of my focus, ensuring that more families understand the support available to them and how they, too, can contribute to the cause.

Q: Why should people support RMHC of Northwest Ohio?

A: Supporting RMHC of Northwest Ohio is a chance for individuals to make a significant difference in the lives of families navigating through what is likely one of the most challenging periods they will ever face. The impact goes beyond monetary contributions; it extends to providing comfort, support, and a sense of community during times of adversity.

Q: What would you recommend to someone who is looking to support RMHC of Northwest Ohio?

A: I would strongly encourage anyone interested in supporting RMHC to actively engage with the cause. Attend a House event, experience firsthand the positive atmosphere it fosters, and consider contributing in ways that resonate with your passions. Whether it’s cooking a meal for the families or exploring various avenues, there’s a match for everyone’s willingness to help. The key is to connect personal enthusiasm with the specific needs the House has, creating a more meaningful and impactful support system.
