Every day at Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Northwest Ohio, meals are constantly being prepared for families. Ashley Owens is a frequent volunteer here at the RMHC Northwest Ohio; dedicating her time as a volunteer allows our families to feel supported through their hard times. 

Volunteering at RMHC of Northwest Ohio brings Ashley, Miss Toledo USA, immense joy as she gives back to her community. It provides her with the chance to bring happiness to families during their most challenging moments. Through her volunteer work at the house, she finds fulfillment in making a positive impact on the lives of those in need.

Ashley finds fulfillment in her volunteer work, inspired by her personal experience of her grandfather’s passing in 2013. “Seeing my grandma struggle after his passing called me to help bring joy to others,” she reflects. Giving back to those going through difficult times brings her a profound sense of joy and reward.

On April 4, 2024, guests at the Ronald McDonald House were treated to a delicious lunch prepared by Ashley. The lunch included curry, rice, and salad, with a chocolate chip cookie for dessert.

Ashley’s greatest joy in volunteering at RMHC Northwest Ohio is the knowledge that she’s making a positive difference in the lives of others. “I love to bring happiness to others. I love getting to see them smile and know I had an impact on them,” she shares. This fulfillment motivates her to continue her efforts to spread joy and support to those in need.

It is worth it and super rewarding!” With her own experience, she knows firsthand the impact it can make on both volunteers and families alike.
