Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Ohio and ProMedica Ebeid Children’s Hospital Announce Care Mobile

TOLEDO, Ohio, August 15, 2023 – Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Ohio and ProMedica Ebeid Children’s Hospital are pleased to announce the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, a mobile medical clinic designed to provide pediatric primary care services to patients in Northwest Ohio.

The Care Mobile will provide children and families access to a wide range of pediatric services and educational tools with the goal of connecting patients back to a primary care provider in the community.

The main services provided by the mobile clinic will include basic medical services such as immunizations, well checks, education, and hearing/vision screenings for children up to 18 years old, but with a focus on infant to six years of age. The Care Mobile includes two patient exam rooms, a waiting area, and a medical records area. It will be staffed and operated by medical professionals from ProMedica Russell J. Ebeid Children’s Hospital.

“Ronald McDonald House of Northwest Ohio is thrilled to take this next step in expanding its mission to enrich the lives of children by helping to provide high-quality health care and support to families from northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan,” said Chad Bringman, Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House of Northwest Ohio.

“The Care Mobile program provides the opportunity to serve children in at-risk, low-income communities,” said Paula Grieb, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer at ProMedica Ebeid Children’s Hospital. “This innovation of care allows us to meet families where they are in hopes of providing an entry point into a regular pattern of health care.”

The Care Mobile build was funded by a grant awarded through the Ronald McDonald House Global Foundation. With final preparation underway, it is expected to be operational this fall. Specific locations and dates of service are yet to be determined.
