McDonald's

Our cornerstone partner.

How It Started

Ronald McDonald House Charities have been in partnership with McDonalds since 1974 when the Philadelphia Eagles tight-end, Fred Hill and his wife noticed a need in the community when their child was hospitalized. After spending several nights sleeping on benches and eating out of vending machines alongside other parents. Many families had nowhere to stay while family members received care.

Mr. Hill decided it was time for a change. He rallied his teammates to raise funds in partnership with McDonalds, for families in these situations to have a place to stay. This started the movement of what eventually was to become The Ronald McDonald House Charities.
